Cal Gladen has acted, developed new works and produced in New York since 2000.
He trained with Suzanne Esper at the William Esper Studio as well as Robert Neff Williams of the Juilliard School and was a company member of TerraNova, 42nd Street Workshop and New Jersey Repertory Company.
As an Actor, he portrayed Polk Mississip in Suzanne Bradbeer’s The Sleeping Girl at Playwright’s Horizons, Jeb Tate in Laura Sweeney’s web series The Mothership, The Narrator in Peter and the Wolf at the 92nd Street Y, Todd in Ben Bettenbender’s Emil at New Jersey Repertory Company and Michael Dunlop in the film TITLE VII, among many other roles.
As a Producer, Cal served as the Managing Director of Inertia Productions, producing plays off-Broadway on Theater Row. Highlights include Keith Reddin’s Life During Wartime and DonNigro’s Scarecrow and Lurker. He then served as the Producing Director at Fresh Cup Productions, producing the pilot episode of Mommy Mafia as well as the web series The Mothership, the short film The Neck, the sizzle reel of the reality show Swarmcatchers, and the historical short dramatic film ACROSS.
Cal founded Purple Sneakers Productions in 2025, working with playwrights and screenwriters to further the creation of new works.
